Report on Poverty in Israel in 2010 confirmed that over 850,000 children are living below the poverty line. That is a startling 40% of children living in Israel. Through Jaffa Institute over 900 children who go to school daily without food are given a bag lunch that LOI helps to provide.

Twice per month 350 poor families in Jaffa, South Tel Aviv, and the surrounding neighborhoods receive food parcels containing basic staple items such as oil, flour and sugar that they depend on to survive. LOI provides assistance to as many as 3000 Holocaust survivors in Israel.
