Shai Baitel
Born in Nazareth, Israel in 1975, to a Polish father and a Romanian mother, Mr. Shai Baitel is the first generation born in the Promised Land. He was raised in the celebrated and most modern metropolis of the Middle East – Tel-Aviv.
In 1993, Mr. Baitel was drafted into the Israeli Defense Forces and proudly served in the Intelligence Unit. His brilliance was revealed and cultivated at the Tel-Aviv University, where he was recognized for his extraordinary commanding and impressive style of dealing with the core of many the indigenous issues prevalent in the region. Mr. Baitel worked at the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies and was elected as member of the student council. He graduated with scholastic honors, achieving both a degree in Law and a degree in The Modern History of the Middle East.
Prior to graduation, Mr. Baitel’s ambitious nature propelled him to work at the Department of International Agreements and International Litigation, at the Israeli Ministry of Justice. As a result of his impressive performance, the director of the department strongly recommended Mr. Baitel for a highly prestigious post at the United Nations. Consequently, he was appointed Legal Advisor at the UN, and as the youngest ever Legal Advisor, Mr. Baitel played a noteworthy role in the UN Secretariat. As an accomplished advisor, he was appointed VP of the UN Judaica Book Club and championed many Israeli and Jewish cultural initiatives. As an example, Mr. Baitel prompted and executed the first ever performance of an Israeli orchestra at the General Assembly Lobby of the UN.
One of his more important accomplishments, while in the U.S., is the co-founding of the Love Of Israel - LOI, facilitating informal meetings between Israeli and American legislative counterparts. The LOI activities have substantially improved relations between the Christian and Jewish communities through lecture engagements provided by Israeli leadership and Christian.
Currently, Mr. Baitel is a member of the International Law Journal and, a graduate of his LL.M in International Business and Trade Law. By-way-of private sector, Shai’s objective is to promote Israeli public affairs and to raise awareness of its critical circumstances, leveraged via lectures and strengthening the dialogue between the American and Israeli people. |
